Fools in share market

     All of us might have heard the story of a merchant, who sold his donkey that had seriously fallen ill and about to die soon.  The donkey owner was worried that how he could sell the donkey before its death as it looks very weak.  The donkey would certainly die even if it is sold out with a big discount in price.  In case the death happens, sooner or later, the buyer would come back and the given money might be forcefully taken back.  Besides, it would lead the owner ruining his hard earned reputation in the society.  It was when he was in such a dilemma, a man, who looks like a new generation adviser, came forward to help him. 

       The ‘adviser’ studied about the product by all means and he gave him an interesting advice to sell out the donkey discreetly without getting hurt to either parties.  Thus the owner gave a small advertisement, which read like this… “You can be the owner of a donkey through a draw, if you spend just a coin. Terms and conditions apply. The donkey has some minor illness”.

     What else need to attract the common people!  Long queue formed. People patiently waited in the sunlight to get the ticket.  At last the draw was held in public.  The winner walked away along with the donkey towards his home.  He, while walking, a little doubted about the health of the donkey though, never-minded it as it was only the matter of a single coin.  But the donkey didn’t woke-up in the next morning.  The winner got furious. He rushed to the seller. 

“You scoundrel, the  donkey you sold me was as weak as not to live for even one day. See, today it died.  Don’t cheat people like this. I need my money back.”   He yelled.   

The seller didn’t get emotional. He calmly went inside the home and brought a coin and put in the hand of the winner.  What the winner could say. He was returned the money spent. So he went back without uttering any more words. The seller smiled.

     This story always repeats even in share market. We might have headed for this coin test many times but we may not be much aware about it.

     I would say one more incident that really happened some years ago.  The price of a share had declined sharply after some negative news spread anxiety. The share price was going down day by day as the selling pressure persisted. At last it touched the bottom support and anchored there without declining any more.  Surprisingly, at that time, people noted that an expert investor massively bought that share. But even after his purchase, any particular upward movement didn’t notice in that share.  But a short while later, some positive news came and the share price started booming.  This company is said to be trying some new ideas for the survival. Some other bigger companies are in the plan of bulk deal with this company’s share.  Besides, a comparative study of the share price when company’s best and worst times! Wow! What a difference.  The share may break previous highest level if it recovers from the present crisis.  People rushed with euphoria. It formed a storm. Share started trading extensively.  Here we could see the real fortune seekers who test their fate with just a coin!

     After a while, it is when the share has been withdrawn from the market, the expert investor was asked about this particular share. “Is it all those shares sold in big loss?”  

The reply shocked me as he said:  “No, I sold it with 300% profit!  I always hope someone would come forward as fortune seekers when share price going down!”  

     Some people always getting cheated and some others are always tricking others.
