Railway hikes the passenger fare

     After a span of 10 years, Railway fares have been hiked in the country approximately 20%  for all classes.  Railways minister Pawan Kumar Bansal released the news during a press conference in New Delhi. 10 paisa per kilometer will go up for the AC executive first class, besides, 6 paisa per KM for 2 tier AC, 3 paisa per KM for first class AC, 10 paisa per KM for AC chair car and 4 paisa per KM for second class ticket in mail express train are the hikes.  'There will be no further hike in the upcoming railway budget.  All steps, in order to make sure the safety of passengers, will be taken all over the country’. He added.  New fares will take effect from 21 this month.
